Cast out the Bondwoman
The bondwoman (the nature of the flesh) puts our souls in bondage and produces offspring (fruits) that are after the flesh. Just as the son of the bondwoman is a representation of the bondwoman, God wants us to stand and represent Him and also present Him to the people. (Gal. 4:22-29)
Gal 4:22 For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.
Gal 4:23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.
Gal 4:24 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.
Gal 4:25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.
Gal 4:26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
Gal 4:27 For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.
Gal 4:28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
Gal 4:29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.
It is important that husbands not hide vital issues from their wives. Likewise, wives should take note of important issues affecting the home and submit them before God. This is necessary for a home to function in God's order. (Eph. 5:22-25, Gen. 21:9-12)
Gen 21:9 And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking.
Gen 21:10 Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.
Gen 21:11 And the thing was very grievous in Abraham's sight because of his son.
Gen 21:12 And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.
God had to intervene in Abraham's family for him to hearken to the voice of his wife concerning the bondwoman and her son so the place of Isaac, as his recognized seed will be preserved. For this was to be the pathway through which Christ came. (Gen. 21:9-12, Gal. 4:19-31)
The bondwoman and the freewoman are allegories of the flesh and the Spirit. They are two forces with their curriculum, knowledge, and understanding warring within us. We are not children of the bondwoman but of the free. (Gal. 4:19-31)
God wants us in this season to move into His salvation as there are struggles within us from the flesh and the Spirit as they cannot dwell together.
This is because we try to live by the dictates of the Spirit and refuse to do away with the flesh at the same time. This hinders us from attaining salvation. (Gal. 5:17, 25, Rev. 14:4)
We manifest/become what we follow. The flesh has its laws, these are the thoughts that are always against the leading of the Spirit. In this season, we must begin to work contrary to the things of the flesh. (Matt. 11:29, Gal. 5:16-17, Rom. 8:1)
We war by consistently rejecting the works of the flesh in our souls through listening and yielding ourselves to the teachings of the Holy Spirit and Christ. (Gal. 4:30, Gal. 5:17, Rom. 8:15)
