Colossians 1:9

For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 

God will not put demand on us that He has not provided for. He is painting His son to us and making us to know what we will be if we believe. What Jesus acquired is all of God’s knowledge in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. Christ grew by coming into spiritual knowledge, and he was able to walk worthy of God unto all pleasing. This Calling has to do with Faith, Hope and Charity which is summarized into all pleasing.

Hebrews 11:6

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. 

Faith is not just based on God said one should do something and one does it but on what God is saying. It doesn't end in hearing and obeying just one instruction. In the New Testament, Faith is about being raised and made.  What God wants to achieve when he instructs us is not in the act but in our attitude towards doing what he has said. Many times we do what God says but we know that we do not do it according to his Will. What God wants to do is to make us know and come into understanding and alignment and do what he says. We come to the knowledge of his Will not come to his will, we feel his will is doing something to please God but faith is not like that, Faith is understanding (knowledge).

Mark 11:23

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 

By being born again we believe in him who we did not know and our belief worked for us at that time. We believed and we were saved; all we needed to do was to profess this Jesus. At this point it does not require understanding for who we believe is a person who stands as Knowledge. Jesus is the Spoken Word and when we believe the Spoken Word, He starts speaking to us. The Faith is the speakings or the knowledge of the Son of God not the person of the Son of God. We came into the faith by the person but we will be saved by the speaking. We believe the person by believing what he says. Paul began to pray that we come into this realm for we can live all our lives not knowing whom we have believed.

Many of us after we have believed we do not move to the realm of knowing His person we instead complement our belief with other things and other knowledge which are not the knowledge of the Son of God. We give ourselves to accumulating wrong knowledge because we know that we ought to know something but we don't want to. So we begin in the Faith but do not continue into God. There is something in us that is asking for more that is why we want to know.

Paul had to pray for the churches so that they could continue and not go away. We need such ministers who can help us from this place of being in the Faith into the knowledge of God. The essence of all that God is doing is so we might come to God. The core of the Calling is for edification, we must therefore  desire so much to be filled with the knowledge of God’s Will, that there will be no discussion heaven will bring that we will not be able to interact with. God does not talk to us at times because we cannot relate with it due to so many other thoughts or knowledge that we have intercoursed with overtime. The moment we are tired is the best moment we can be assaulted by the enemy, this is when we interact with other thoughts. We need to come to the understanding of God’s Will - when, where and who he wants to do them with, for he will not choose places we want to go or people we want to meet.

The Faith in the New Testament is not the Faith in the Old Testament. The Faith in the New Testament is meant to bring us to the realm of all pleasing not some pleasing like the elders in the hall of Faith. For some things to happen God can imbibe in us the gift of faith and that things will be done through us but it does not mean we have pleased God. He wants us to be part of the process of knowing what God is doing and understanding His Will, and by coming into understanding we please God.

Our progress in the Calling can be measured, valued and validated by witnesses. Jesus is the building of God and the temple of God so this building can be evaluated. When we engage in an earthly profession, our status can be measured also in this Profession. Our status can be measured by witnesses and the essence of witnesses is to measure us, so when Hebrews said we are compassed about with a cloud of witnesses, we are being measured to make us come to right attainment.

1 Corinthians 9:26

I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: 

Paul knew the value, requirement and the evaluation what is required of him. Through this Calling, God brings to us evaluation; things he wants us to become or attain. In this Calling, there are degrees and things to run after and attain. The end of a thing without things to attain can be wearisome. That is why we need to pay close attention; it is not about our activities for we can be engaged with so many things in the church like ordination and ministry and do not know God’s expectation. That we are naturally zealous does not mean that we have the understanding of Faith. When the forces of the earth blow in doctrines certain building is needed to stand against the lies and false doctrines in. If we put the brethren in remembrance of these things we will be ministers of good things. This has been nourished with the word of faith which is the knowledge of the Son, not words of declaration.

1 Corinthians 15:3

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 

There is a wisdom displayed in the death of Christ. Christ cannot be taught without the cross. The cross symbolizes a wisdom; not just a wood. Therefore, we cannot preach Christ without Him being crucified for it is the wisdom and power of God unto salvation. Paul was explaining how Jesus died and resurrected in the epistles. We will also be taking through process and by the time we are done we will know that we indeed died with him.

2 Timothy 3:8-12

Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was. But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 

Here, Timothy had fully known, grasp and attained. These were the things Paul was watching out for; to know that his disciples had grown. What to watch out for in the growth of a man is how well rooted he is in the doctrine, in whatever manner, in season and out of season. What blows men away from the doctrine of Christ is not men’s will but a higher will stronger than men. Paul was advising Timothy in a place on how to choose a deacon and he said such person must be holding the mystery of faith. It meant that he needed to have come in and must be consistently engaging with the Life that flows from understanding. He must be holding the Faith in a pure conscience for if a conscience is not purified there will be a shipwreck of the Faith.
