Equipping For Battle

The members of the army of God are carriers of arms. As we are being prepared to be enlisted in the army of God, we are supposed to possess the armoury of God for that is our equipping for battle. (2 Cor. 10:4-5)

The armies of the Living God are not carnal warriors as our battle is not physical. We cannot pull down strongholds if we are not strong, and what makes us strong is the life residing in the Captain of the army. (2 Cor. 10:4-5)

There are rankings in this great army, in their cadres who make up the force. As armies of the Living God, there is only one thing we are supposed to be doing to be eqipped for battle; living. (1 Chron. 12:33)

As soldiers in God’s army, we have a corporate battle to fight. Our victory depends on our equipping for battle or what each of us will be able to contribute to the fight; the victory of one is the victory of all. A weak one among us can harm our company. (Jos. 7:20-21)

As a company of believers, it is expedient that we open our hearts to receive corrections and hasten our growth. Else, we will become a weak link that will affect the potency of our togetherness.

When we wage war with carnal weapons, we will have no profit. We are effective in the spirit when we engage in our battles with spiritual understanding as our equipement. (2 Cor. 10:4-5)

We as believers have to come to the understanding of the power we carry; we are dangerous, a force that the enemy cannot contend with. (Eph. 6:12-13)

The servants of David had no life of their own. They forsook everything that they called their own, just to follow sheepishly. Anyone who will be part of the armies of the Living God must be ready to lay down their life. (1 Sam. 23:15-16)

Babes have no place on the war front, the battle is for those who are mature. We are meant to be raised by doctrine until we get to the point when we can be enlisted in the army of God and are filled with the life that is in the Living God. (1 Pet. 5:8)

Doctrines are teachings which come via words of spirit and life. As believers, we are expected to be full of the Word of God. When we are full of God’s life, we become a threat to the kingdom of darkness. (Is. 28:9, Jn. 6:63)

We ought to seek God with all of our hearts, constantly checking by God’s Word, the intents of our hearts if they align with God’s will. Our hearts must earnestly yearn to fulfil all the doctrines of God.

It is possible to be in the army, yet not embody all the doctrines. What constrains us from receiving all that God has to give, is our unwillingness to relinquish what the enemy has deposited in us which is contrary to God’s Life.

The adversary is only a deceiver and a counterfeit. He flaunts himself ‘as a roaring lion’, but in reality, he is powerless and incapable of defeating God’s strong army. God is the lion of the tribe of Judah, the one who is the true. (Jn. 10:10, 1 Pet. 5:8)

At some points in our lives, the Lord may by His permission, cause us to be chased out and rejected by people and places. This is not for our defeat, but because God’s plan for us is to exalt us by His own mighty hand. (1 Sam. 23:1-13)

Oftentimes, we fail to do the right thing when we do not ask for the help of the Spirit. We have to cultivate the habit of seeking God’s direction via the Holy Spirit, so that we may be guided by wisdom through our journey till we safely arrive at the end.

There is a life that supersedes abundance, and this Life is in the Son. God is ‘I Am’, He is ready to give us the life that is in Him without holding back anything. (Jn. 10:11)

God is presenting His life to us, and we will shortchange ourselves if we despise that which He has to give. Anyone who refuses to accept that which God is giving will become accursed. (Josh. 7:11-13, 25-26)
