The least place where an average believer must be found is the place of holding the mystery of the Faith with a pure conscience. You must not press lesser than this place. Faith is not a new teaching in the Body but the Church did not stay there. We quickly stay in the place of receiving natural things when there is much more that Faith should do. Hebrews 11.
What Jesus authored never existed before Jesus came. If one uses faith pattern to live in this age, we are of all men most miserable. The Faith of Jesus is hanging on Jesus being the Messiah.
Sin is of different forms and human issue. Whatever does not allow one to do righteousness is sin. Once sin is dealt with, we are upgraded, so as sin is being dealt with, we are being upgraded. Daniel 4:27.
John 4:25
The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.
Jesus is Christ, the Messiah. The point today is to see the Messiah as the Son of God. This is not just a lingual but a reality in the Spirit. What the messiah will do with sin, no man can do it if he is not the Son of God.
The Jews are not strange with prophets because they are people God raised as prophets. In the days of Samuel, being a prophet was not about being a seer, but being able to bring divine thought. In those days, the prophetic was all about bringing divine intention. God’s intention is about Kingdom, not about surviving on the earth. It was not difficult for the Jews to see Jesus as a prophet. All the religions on the earth accepted that Jesus was a prophet; they could not invalidate him but there is a clear intention why God sent him and supported him with various prophetic utterances.
Everything in the Christian faith stands on that thing called ‘Sonship’; that is where the mystery of Faith is. He is the Messiah, and that Messiah is the Son of the Living God. The Church is built on Jesus, the Savior, and the Son of God. Everything he will do in our lives and in the Church is based on this revelation. The bedrock of the Gospel is Jesus, the Son of God. Once that is taken away, the gates of hell will prevail against the Church.
The apostles and the early church leaders took time to put together the four Gospels- Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. They did this to show to every man that will believe that Jesus is a man born of a woman. He is a man who became ‘the man’. There was the need for a man who will connect man to God. There is only one mediator between God and man; the man, Christ Jesus. The job of the apostles was that they met a man who was born as a Jew, who lived and grew as every other child. The virgin birth was a sign. It was clear that that child will be God with us. If not for the prophetic writings, the gospel would be like fantasy to man; that is why Israel had the record of the holy prophets.
Psalms 82:6
I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.
God had been speaking about Sonship in the prophetic writings but it was not written as the word ‘Sonship’. Sonship is a common language among the Jews. They train up their children to take full responsibility of the family business. For Peter to come into the revelation of Jesus as the Son of God was not from the law, it was an express revelation.
John 20:31-; Luke 1:1-4
The book of John was to ascertain the identity of Jesus. He was not born as the Messiah; he grew from childhood to become the Messiah. Everything that was done when he was a child was all prophetic because he could not have done those things himself. The revelation of his name is Christ, the Son of God. That is who he is and everything about the Faith he authored is in the name. What birthed us is Faith in Jesus, the Son of God. Acts 3:16-18. All that Jesus fulfilled was to make the people believe. Beyond what Peter confessed, all the disciples saw him fulfill everything written about him. The apostles were eye-witnesses and they laid down their lives for what they saw. In every legal system on the earth, there is no higher account than that of an eye-witness.
1 John 5:11
And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
Faith, Hope and Charity are realities that the heart must relate with. Romans 20:31. We must come to know his name: Christ, the Son of God. Messiah is called Christ, the Son of God. What the Messiah will bring to us is his Life, and he cannot bring that Life if he is not the Son of God. We need to believe now on the revelation of the name of the Son of God. If we ask anything based on Sonship realities, he will always hear us. Everything is tied to the revelation of the name of the Son of God. All that was written is to bring us to the place of resolute faith that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
1 Timothy 3:9
Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.
We will have to fight to stay on the reality of Jesus as the Son of God. The whole of hell will fight us the day that reality opens up to us. God announced Jesus as His Son three times. He was not the Son of God from birth. Mark 1:11; Matthew 17:5. This is the place of the faith that overcomes. 1 John 5:4. Sonship has to do with expression. A son is the one who has the stature and the authority to manage the father’s estate. Jesus is the one who can manage the resources of the Father. Although he was informed early, he did not begin to teach until he was thirty years. All the while, he was acquiring divine thoughts.
Matthew 5:1
And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
For Jesus to sit to teach means that he is taking the place of authority, just like Moses. For him to be able to shift the people from Moses, he had to be a Son.
Before the transfiguration of Jesus, the people were hearing but not really hearing him. He could not force them to hear him before them. We cannot push people beyond measure. At transfiguration, the Jews began to hear him because the laws and the prophet came to witness to him. Matthew 21:7-9. Jesus never tried to make men respond; he was never crowd conscious, he was always conscious of the intention of the Father.
John 17:1-5; Hebrews 1:2-3.
Jesus had finished the work of the Father and he was able to ask for the Glory of the Father. When we hear the begotten Son of God, we are talking about the Messiah, the Son of God. Jesus had become one with the death even before he died on the cross. He had been dying (laying down) all through his life. We will also be made conformable to his death. Jesus Christ went to God and he has finished his course before his death on the cross. He was praying a priestly prayer in John 17. Jesus was teaching Eternal Life close to the end of his life and declared at the raising of Lazarus from the dead that he is the Resurrection and the Life. He could not have declared that at his baptism.
Romans 1:4
And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:
God raised Jesus from the dead and made him his begotten Son. He was the first one whom death vomited. Resurrection separated him from the realm of men and made it impossible for him to go back there. Lord also means Son of God. God made him God. The only difference is that he is representing flesh. There is only one God. If he is not Lord, he cannot be the Son of God. By right, he was able to take men from death because he is the Lord.
Acts 9:5; 13; 15; 20
The Son of God is Lord, not a small god. At this point of Sonship, Jesus is Lord. The issue of Faith is sitting on the reality that Jesus, the Messiah is the Son of God; he is the Lord. Jesus is not just “Omo Olorun” according to the Yoruba version of the bible he is “Ifarahan Olorun” - the invisible God made visible. God raised his Son for thirty years before demonstrating Resurrection for three days. God used three days to declare him, to show principalities and powers what he had been raising in the midst of the troubles of the nation of the Jews.
By Mercy, we are being raised by the Resurrection and the Life to live above the world. Amen!
