The saying that people do not value what they have until they lose it is true. Life has not remained the same since Jesus came. We cannot imagine what the world was like before the coming of Jesus; it was a day of wastage and ruins. Darkness supervised the world before Jesus came. Jesus, by His coming, brought liberty from the bondage of darkness. Westernization is a corrupted light. What is referred to as liberation or right was gotten through the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, but because that light lacked the ability to lighten men all through, it became darkness.
When we do not allow the light of the gospel to lighten us through, darkness will catch up with us and darkness is bondage. We can all talk about ‘right’ when we see through the light of the gospel; no one is right except the light shines through the gospel. The gospel of Jesus is liberation from the bondage of darkness.
If we do not hasten to the light of the gospel, we will only live to tell our children what it was like to live by the light of the gospel. Our escape from the bondage of darkness is holding to the light of the gospel. Jesus was the light when He was on earth; presently, he is not the light but making men light as they hold on to the Light of His Gospel. We become the Light by believing the Light of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We can live in bondage for years as a normal way of life; but in the real sense, it a lie that we must delivered from by the light of the gospel. We must allow the Light of the Gospel to enlighten us. We must become a city set on the hill that cannot be hidden (Matthew 5:14) and this can only be done if we allow the Light in the Gospel to illuminate us.
We do not have immunity except through the gospel. The gospel is our defense. If the church drops the light, we will be exposed.
Philippians 1:27
Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;
God wants us to gain mastery of the faith of the gospel; this is our light. We have a common adversary because of the hope of the gospel. If we drop the hope of the gospel, then the common adversary ceases to be our adversary. Satan is the head in the kingdom of darkness and no one in the kingdom is allowed to be free. The enemy is terrified when we do not allow him to have free course because of the faith we are holding.
Once the Church drops the Gospel of the Life, death and resurrection of Jesus, there is no more fight and the devil will have a field day. When we are striving over a thing, it means it is contentious, and it will take a lot of labor due to its worth. The faith of Jesus is our actual life. The light is distasteful to the nature of the serpent. We must strive together for the faith of the gospel.
Philippians 2:14
Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
We should all strive together for the Faith of the Gospel. Striving for the Faith of the Gospel is to make us light in this world. We are no longer afraid when we are light; the reason we are afraid is because we are ignorant of the weakness of the adversary. Light is stronger than darkness and love is stronger than death.
We must give diligence to the things we are hearing so that we can come to sight. There is a commandment that our light must shine; which if we refuse to take heed to, darkness will define the economy of our days.
Light is the amour that we must arm ourselves with. The best way to win the battle is to be offensive. The Church must come to engage the enemy at the gate with the Light in their hands. The Light must be present with the Church to keep winning.
The primary essence of the Spirit coming on the earth after the ascension of Jesus is to raise witnesses of the Light in Jesus. Bitterness in the heart of the believer stops men from being witnesses of the Life. Hebrews 12:15. The root of bitterness must be uprooted from within before we can be witnesses of the Life. Bitterness enslaves but Jesus came to liberate us from this evil. Hallelujah!
